My approach

The map and the territory.

I think of therapy as cartography. We make a map of your inner world — together, with care — and then I hand it back to you so you can navigate both your inner and outer world with confidence.

How I see this work

My job is to help you
see the whole map.

Most of us are walking through life with an incomplete or distorted map of ourselves. We know some things — what we're afraid of, what we want, what we're good at — but we've also accumulated years of stories, defenses, and inherited beliefs that we've never fully examined. And those hidden elements often run the show, getting in the way of how we sincerely want our lives to feel.

I do that through close attention. I listen to what you say and what you don't say. I notice how you hold yourself, what energizes you, what you avoid, where you get stuck. I ask questions that invite you to look at what's actually there, not what you've decided to believe about yourself.

Together we sit with whatever arises — the grief, the confusion, the anger, the longing, the parts you're not proud of. I receive all of it without judgment. My role is not to fix it but to witness it, name it, and help you develop a relationship with it that's grounded in honesty and compassion.

Symptoms are signals,
not just problems.

I believe most symptoms — anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviors, relational patterns that keep repeating — are not problems to be solved so much as signals to be understood. When we understand what a pattern is protecting, it often releases its grip. Not always quickly. But genuinely.

This is slow work when it needs to be slow. It's also the kind of work that lasts.

The approaches I draw from

Five lineages, one conversation.

Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt places the present moment at the center of our work. Rather than talking about the past in the abstract, we explore what's alive right now in this room — in your body, your breath, your posture, your words. What is actually happening here, between us, in this moment? That's where the real work lives.

Psychodynamic Understanding

The past shapes the present in ways we often can't see. By exploring your personal history — family patterns, early attachments, old wounds — we begin to understand why certain things feel so charged, why certain patterns keep repeating, and what's underneath what you feel.

Transpersonal & Humanistic

I hold a deep belief in human capacity for growth, meaning, and transformation. My work is informed by a sense that we are more than our symptoms — that within each person is a self that, when supported, moves toward wholeness.

Somatic Awareness

The body knows things the mind takes time to understand. I attend to what's happening somatically — the tightness in your chest, the way you hold your breath, what relaxes when something lands — as part of the full picture.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

For eligible clients, KAP represents a significant acceleration of the therapeutic process. I'm trained and certified in this modality and offer it in partnership with Journey Clinical's medical team. It's not right for everyone — but for those for whom it fits, it can be extraordinary.

What I ask of you.

I ask for commitment. Not perfection — commitment. Showing up every week. Staying with it when it's uncomfortable. Trusting the process even when it doesn't feel like it's working.

I ask you to bring all of yourself — the parts you're proud of and the parts you're not. The things you've never said out loud. The ways you've been disappointed, and the ways you've disappointed others.

And I ask you to let the relationship between us be real. Because it's in that relationship — its ruptures and repairs, its honesty and care — that some of the most important work actually happens.
